오랜만에 글을 쓰게 되는군요.
독감 예방주사를 맞는 시즌이 되었습니다.
늦은 감이 없잖아 있습니다만 다들 알고 계시는것이 좋을것 같아 이렇게 글을 씁니다.
현재 우리아이들이 맞고 있는 백신에는 티메로살이라는 수은제제가 들어가게 됩니다.
간단하게 말하자면 여러사람에게 쓰기 위해서 혹은 오래 안전하게 보관하기 위해서 사용되는 항균제및 방부제의 용도이지요. 하지만 모든 독감백신에 들어가는 것은 아닙니다
독감백신은 우리나라에서 제조를 못하고 있습니다. 유럽에서 수입하고 있습니다. 수입은 하지만 두가지 종류가 있습니다. 한가지는 유럽에서 직수입하여 한 사람용으로 만들어진것이며 여기에는 티메로살이 거의 들어가지 않습니다. 그러나 원료만 수입해서 한 앰플을 가지고 4-5명 혹은 그 이상 을 주사할수 있게 우리나라에서 다시 제조된 백신에는 이런 티메로살이 들어갑니다.
백신에 함유된 수은이 건강한 일반인의 경우는 크게 문제되지 않을수도 있으나 아토피안들에게 있어서나 어린아이에게 있어서는 매년 맞는 이런 백신에 수은제제가 있다는 사실을 꼭 알아두시는것이 좋습니다. 특별히 어린아이들의 경우는 아주 예민하게 반응할수도 있답니다. 우선 티메로살(수은)에 알레르기가 있을수 있습니다. 그리고 일년에 여러번 백신을 맞아야 하는 3세이하의 유아에게는 수은이 우리몸에서 잘 제거되지 않는다는것을 고려하면 상당한 양이 되어질수 있습니다. 가뜩이나 독감예방주사를 매년 맞는경우라면 좀더 신중하게 접근을 해야할것입니다.
물론 백신에 난백이 포함되어 있어서 계란에 알레르기가 있는 경우 또한 난백 알레르기로 인하여 접종후 아토피가 심해질수 있답니다.
만약 나는 백신을 맞아도 아토피가 심해지지 않더라,,, 혹은 아토피가 조금 심해지더라도 독감예방주사를 꼭 맞추고 싶다는 분들은 반드시 유럽에서 직수입한, 조그만한 주사기 안에 이미 들어있는 수입제제 백신을 맞으시기 바랍니다.
물론 가격은 조금더 비싸답니다.
이미 유럽이나 선진국에서는 이런 티메로살 수은제제가 들어있는 백신을 서서히 줄여나가고 있는 상황입니다. 아마도 우리나라도 이런 문제를 서서히 해결해 나가리라고 보지만 현재로서는 과도기에 있다고 보아야 할것 같습니다. 국내 제약회사도 망하면 안되니까요.
독감 예방주사 이외에도 우리가 필수적으로 맞는 백신에는 이런 티메로살이 포함된 경우가 많습니다.
따라서 필수 예방주사가 아니라면 예방주사의 접종을 신중하게 검토해 보심이 좋겠습니다.
참고로 학계에서는 티메로살이 함유된 백신이 소아의 자폐를 유발한다는 보고가 이미 여러번 있어졌습니다.
즉 수은제제가 신경계에 상당한 영향력을 미친다는것이죠. 하지만 수은은 비단 신경계 뿐아니라 아토피에도 상당한 영향력이 있으리라고 사료됩니다. 중금속의 오염은 인체의 신경계뿐 아니라 면역계를 심각하게 교란할수 있기 때문입니다. 실제로 아토피안에게 있어서 중금속이 높아져 있다는 보고가 있습니다. 게다가 중금속은 좀처럼 우리몸에서 제거하기 힘듭니다. 따라서 가능하면 오염원을 피하는것이 제일 중요합니다.
현재로서 중금속오염이 제일 확실한 오염원은 방부제, 농약등이 다량함유된 음식, 치과치료시 아말감(수은제제), 그리고 티메로살이 함유된 주사제제등입니다. 물론 이외에도 많이 있을수 있으니 세심한 주의를 하는것이 좋을것입니다.
특히나 아직 발육이 모두 이루어지지 않은 어린아이들이나 노약자, 면역상태가 좋지 않은 환자들에게는 더욱 그렇습니다.

Mercury and autism: Accelerating Evidence?

The causes of autism and neurodevelopmental disorders are unknown. Genetic and environmental risk factors seem to be involved. Because of an observed increase in autism in the last decades, which parallels cumulative mercury exposure, it was proposed that autism may be in part caused by mercury. We review the evidence for this proposal. Several epidemiological studies failed to find a correlation between mercury exposure through thimerosal, a preservative used in vaccines, and the risk of autism. Recently, it was found that autistic children had a higher mercury exposure during pregnancy due to maternal dental amalgam and thimerosal-containing immunoglobulin shots. It was hypothesized that children with autism have a decreased detoxification capacity due to genetic polymorphism. In vitro, mercury and thimerosal in levels found several days after vaccination inhibit methionine synthetase (MS) by 50%. Normal function of MS is crucial in biochemical steps necessary for brain development, attention and production of glutathione, an important antioxidative and detoxifying agent. Repetitive doses of thimerosal leads to neurobehavioral deteriorations in autoimmune susceptible mice, increased oxidative stress and decreased intracellular levels of glutathione in vitro. Subsequently, autistic children have significantly decreased level of reduced glutathione. Promising treatments of autism involve detoxification of mercury, and supplementation of deficient metabolites.
간단히 요약하자면....
반복적인 수은이나 티메로살의 투여가 자폐나 뇌신경 발달장애를 초래할수 있다. 앞으로 자폐의 치료에 있어서 수은중독의 해결이나 이로 인해 부족하기 쉬운 성분을 공급해주는것이 필요하다.

A generalized reaction to thimerosal from an influenza vaccine.

BACKGROUND: Thimerosal is a preservative commonly used in ophthalmic solutions, otic drops, and vaccines because of its bactericidal property. OBJECTIVE: To report a case of a generalized reaction to thimerosal in a patient who received an influenza vaccine. METHODS: We describe a patient who developed a generalized maculopapular eruption after receiving a thimerosal-containing influenza vaccine. Patch testing was performed to determine if there was an allergy to thimerosal. RESULTS: Patch testing confirmed a T-cell-mediated sensitivity to thimerosal. CONCLUSIONS: Physicians need to be aware that thimerosal is found in many products, including vaccinations. Clinicians should also be aware that allergic reactions occur with exposure to thimerosal even in vaccines. To our knowledge, this is the first case report in the literature of a generalized reaction to thimerosalfrom an influenza vaccine.
티메로살은 안과질환에 쓰이는 안약이나 백신등에 함유되는 항균제인데, 독감백신에 함유된 티메로살이 나타내는 일반적인 반응을 관찰하였다. 결과적으로 내과의사들은 백신중의 티메로살이 알러지 반응을 일으킬수 있다는것을 알고 경계해야 한다.

Sensitization to thimerosal in atopic children.

Thimerosal is an organic mercurial compound widely used as a preservative in vaccines, eyedrops, and contact lens cleaning and storage solutions. 5 infants, 2 female and 3 male, ranging in age from 7 to 28 months and affected by atopic dermatitis (AD) diagnosed according to the Hanifin and Rajka criteria, experienced an exacerbation of their clinical condition 2-10 days after mandatory vaccinations with vaccines containing thimerosal. Cutaneous lesions of nummular eczema appeared on the trunk, limbs and face. All patients were patch tested with serial dilutions of thimerosal in petrolatum. A positive patch test reaction to thimerosal 0.1% pet. was observed in all 5 children. 3 of them also showed a positive reaction at 0.01% and 0.05% pet. Despite their thimerosal-hypersensitivity, all children completed the entire series of mandatory vaccinations, care being taken to use different needles for injection and aspiration of the vaccine. The 2-year follow-up did not reveal other episodes of exacerbation of the AD after vaccination. The present study confirms the high frequency of sensitization to thimerosal in atopic children and suggests that vaccination can cause clinical symptoms in sensitized children. Nevertheless, sensitization to thimerosal does not prevent children from continuing with mandatory vaccinations.
티메로살은 백신중의 방부제로 사용되는데, 안약, 콘택트 렌즈 클렌징 솔류션에도 함유된다. 5명의 유아(7-28개월)들에게 티메로살이 함유된 백신을 접종하고 나서 피부변화를 관찰하였다. 양성팻치 테스트 상에서 5명중 3명이 티메로살에 대해서 양성적인 알레르기 과민반응이 나타났다. 과민반응이 있음에도 백신주사를 한후 2년후 경과를 보았더니 아토피상태의 큰 변화는 없었다. 이번 실험을 통해서 아토피 아이들이 티메로살에 예민하게 반응하는경우가 많다는것과 백신주사가 아토피 아이들에게 임상적 증상을 초래한다는것을 알수 있다.
